Senior Technology Education Program
The Senior Technology Education Program spreads awareness about online threats and assists senior citizens with technology use. By educating those less familiar with the rapidly evolving world of the internet, we hope to prevent cybercriminals from taking advantage of the elderly, who are disproportionately targeted in comparison to other demographics. Teaching participants to be aware of and understand online scams is a simple yet effective way to avoid identity theft, loss of personal information, and other malicious activities.
Furthermore, using smartphones and other handheld technologies can be a challenge for the elderly, so we also assist with navigating these technologies and answer any questions they have. Age should never restrict a group of people from the benefits of technology, so we strive to close this gap and help connect the elderly with the new developments of the modern world.
The Senior Technology Education Program is taught by MJSA Instructor Jessica He.
